I'll Be Home for Christmas: Holiday Home Decor with Big Lots

One of my favorite times of year to decorate is Christmas! I love all the sparkle, glitter, and lights and always go all out. I love the vibe of my cozy home this time of year. It’s so relaxing after work, on the weekends, and when company is coming.

LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM

Since I’ve slowly been re-doing my dining room and living room, I was excited to get a brand new tree and dress up this corner a little more than I have in years past! I purchased the nine feet flocked Christmas tree at Big Lots and was so impressed with the quality. I have always had a tall, nine feet tree, but it was a green pencil tree. As I’ve been working on my home, I knew I definitely wanted a flocked tree for this corner this year. I did not do the pencil tree but am loving the fullness of this tree. I am so impressed by the quality of this tree! Although it was still $250, you will be hard pressed to find a flocked tree this tall for a cheaper price! The next affordable option I could find was $350 with prices all the way up to $800! The quality of this is also great. It is so full, the branches look life like, and the flocking is perfect. I highly recommend checking out Big Lots for an affordable, flocked tree!

I kept with my usual theme of Tiffany Blue, White, and Silver Gray ornaments and used ornaments that I collected through the years from Big Lots and also added a few new ones. I made sure to link up my similar ones, as well as exact ones if you keep scrolling! I also picked up this silver tulle garland and a new faux fur tree skirt with gold and silver sparkles!

I also wanted to dress up this fireplace a little. If you remember, this electric fireplace that I inherited from my home was a dark wood that I recently painted white this past winter. I’m not finished—I never did the tiling around the fireplace but am planning to this winter (stay tuned!). In the meantime, I added faux fur stockings that matched the tree skirt, along with a basket and faux fur throw (my inspiration was the room we decorated at the Influencer event!). I added these beautiful beaded white trees along with my normal centerpiece. I did pick up this Gather sign from Big Lots this fall, but unfortunately, it is no longer available! I did link up a similar one I found. Shop all my products below!

RECREATION ROOM

If you have been following me for awhile, you know that my rec room (or lower level/basement area—where I primarily relax and watch TV!) is definitely cozier with a warm, rustic vibe. I have always done a woodland or holiday cottage decor theme in this area and get to have tons of fun with red and green color! One of my projects I intended to do before the holidays but never got around to was taking down this wallpaper and painting (another winter project!), but I can still capture what the vibe I want!

I have been able to use all the holiday cottage ornaments that I’ve collected through the years from Big Lots (keep scrolling to see my favorites linked below!), as well as some classic red and gold bulbs.

This year, I added a new tree skirt with fun plaid, reindeers and faux fur along with matching pillows! My favorite holiday decor finds at Big Lots this year have to be their pillows and throws! I even picked up this super cozy buffalo check fleece throw. Not only do I love the way it looks, but it has become my absolute favorite throw for cuddling on the couch! It also comes in the trendy black and white buffalo check too!

Last but not least, I picked up this fun decorative reindeer last season, and it is still one of my favorite additions to my decor. It puts the finishing touch on my coffee table tray, and I love its stature and the glitter! I’m also still using rustic garland (linked up!) on my mantel from Big Lots that I picked up a few years ago when I first moved into my home. It is still available and such a classic piece.

I’m always happy I have some diversity in my home decor, as it makes it so much fun for me to change up the looks and be creative with different styles! What do you think of my decor this year? I’d love to hear your comments below!
