I have been relaxing at home and really enjoying my time off the past week. Sometimes I feel guilty for being so relaxed and lazy, because all I ever am is BUSY and on the go! Maybe "Being Able to Relax in a Busy World," is a good topic for another blog post in the future...

I digress. So, since I've been home and Christmas has winded down, I have not had much Instagram content the past week. I decided to post my "Best 9 of 2017," and then a thought came to me--why not do a post about my top 9 IG posts?! It would be a great way to review the year, as well as some of my followers' favorite posts. So I will count down the year through my 9 posts, talking about each and linking items as appropriate.

Some of my items are older, and many of my items this year were bought from the Final The Limited sale last holiday (wow, that seemed like yesterday. Time goes too quickly!); however, what you will find with me is that I LOVE to remix my closet and create new outfits, but I also love to shop and add new items. Because of my work and leadership role, I wear so many classic pieces that will never go out of style. Although the exact item may no longer be available, I guarantee that you will be able to find a similar item to create the same look. For many women who are in leadership roles or work in the office, I hope to inspire you to mix up your closet and have fun with your outfits, yet still continue to look professional.

January 2017: This outfit above was from January 2017. I actually remember I was hosting a professional development seminar at work this day and wanted to look professional and put together for introducing and organizing the event. I had so many compliments on my outfit from the participants, so I knew this was a winner. I am known for my memory, and I also remember that it was unusually warm this day in CLE (not like today!), and I hit a major pothole on Route 8 in Hudson, Ohio on my way home from work. My car suffered a major flat tire and major rim damage. Terry had to come rescue me! I bought my car in 2014, and in the past three years, Terry has had to fix like five flat tires for me! :-/ Anyways--that's the story behind this outfit. See links below for these closet staples that pair well in a preppy pink and green ensemble (I was an Alpha Phi in college and am always reminded of the Delta Zetas' colors with this outfit. I always liked their colors. :)). I can't find an exact link for this blazer, but there are a ton of similar Lily Pulizer blazers listed on eBay that are super similar.

March 2017: This was another carefully selected outfit for emceeing an evening event at work. Per usual, this is ANOTHER closet remix (isn't it amazing what you can do with closet staples?!). The blazer, black pants, peplum top, strappy black heels, and choker are staples any girl should have. Believe it or not, the pants probably cost the most! I got the blazer at Forever 21 and purchased these heels off of DSW clearance! See links for similar items!

June 2017: Although my fashion and style posts get the most attention, some of my favorite posts and photos are of my house and yard. I was blessed to purchase a home with a great yard and landscaping to start. I will admit, it needed some work and cleaning up, but the ideas and outlines were there--it just need some tender loving care again. When I moved in during the month of August, this was a tangled, dead mess. My mom wanted me to tear it out, but I wasn't ready to do that. It was cleaned up and tended to for a year and a half before these beautiful blooms appeared! I think this is Wisteria, but I'm not convinced. It has such a strong, sweet smell and attracts tons of bees and hummingbirds. I'm so glad I never tore it out, as it is one of my favorite things in my yard.
