As I continue to add content to my blog, one of my favorite posts that I write are my monthly recaps of what I did in my hometown--Cleveland, Ohio!  I love sharing all about my favorite places to go, new places to try, and some great Cleveland businesses and bloggers everyone needs to check out, whether they live in Cleveland or not!

I had a special reception earlier this month for a leadership program I had been involved in through work.  The reception was held at Roses Run Country Club in Stow, Ohio, a suburb of Akron, Ohio in Summit County (just a little south of Cleveland).  They have an event center and reception hall that is able to be utilized for a variety of functions including weddings, proms, and work events such as the one I attended.  I had never heard of the country club before but was pleasantly surprised by the building, setting, and backdrop.   This is definitely a place to check out for any of these events!

MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH AT BURNTWOOD TAVERN BRECKSVILLE

One of my favorite restaurants to go to around town is Burntwood Tavern.  It is a local Greater Cleveland chain with restaurant locations all around Northeast Ohio.  If you live in Naples, Florida or happen to visit there, they actually have a Florida location, so be sure to check it out!

Not only is this one of MY favorite places to go, it is also one of my family's favorite places to go to eat.  We go all the time, whether it is happy hour, lunch, or dinner.  They have the best happy hour specials--sometimes even when we go for dinner, I just get their house wine (Coastal Vines Merlot) with their apps.  My favorite go to's are the Ahi Tuna Nachos and their Sliders.  Just thinking about it makes me hungry!

When my mom found out they were having a Mother's Day brunch, this is where she wanted to go, so I made it happen!  The food in the brunch buffet was delicious and all encompassing!  They even had an awesome omelette bar and a Bloody Mary Bar.  Not only would I recommend Burntwood Tavern for everyday meals (Happy Hours are the best--it happens 7 days a week!), I would also share that it is a great place to go for these types of special occasions.  Feel free to learn more about Burntwood Tavern and view their menu here.

MICHAEL ANGELO'S BAKERY BROADVIEW HEIGHTS

Pretty cupcakes!

Pretty cupcakes!

After going to brunch, we headed back to my house, where I picked up some delicious cupcakes from Michael Angelo's bakery. I'm so lucky this is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from my house and is known as one of the best bakeries in the Greater Cleveland area.  It's so great, even Khloe Kardashian chose this bakery as the place to make Tristan Thompson's (Cavs center) Finals Trophy birthday cake.  You can check out the creation here.

I didn't pick up a huge cake, but these cupcakes were the perfect sweet ending to a great Mother's Day!  If you would like more information on the bakery and their products, check out their website here.

What's super exciting is that the same company is opening a VINEYARD in Richfield this summer! I CANNOT wait!

SARAH'S VINEYARD--CUYAHOGA VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

Beautiful view of the vineyard

Beautiful view of the vineyard

If you didn't know, Northeast Ohio is actually home to a national park!  It is a gorgeous place, and I'm sure I'll be featuring it on some point on the blog or on Instagram, as Terry and I often frequent there quite often during warmer weather.  However, I went to Sarah's Vineyard this month for a work social, which is nestled within the National Park and across from Blossom Music Center, a great, outdoor concern venue.

Sarah's Vineyard is a great place to go to relax with some great wine and order some small plates.  Sarah's has great food choices and a variety of items that pair will with wine.  There are several different places to sit and dine at Sarah's including three outdoor settings--the deck overlooking the vineyard, the pavilion (which has TVs), and the Butterfly Garden.  This is where we sat.  Not only did we have a beautiful place to sit, we had great views of the vineyard.

I would highly recommend Sarah's Vineyard for happy hour, girls' night out, or date night.  Check out their full website here.

COLLABORATIONS

Also, don't forget to check out my May blog posts on collaborations with local Cleveland small businesses:

1). Blo Blow Dry Bar:  I had a great time receiving a blowout from Cleveland's only blow dry bar!  Don't forget to check out my blog post earlier this month here.

2). I also loved collaborating with 5th Element Designs, a small business jewelry boutique based out of the Greater Cleveland area.   I was able to style and feature some gorgeous jewelry.  You can check out my post here.

It was such a great month this May!  I know June will hold even more surprises and fun!  Stay tuned!

If you have a great place or small business in CLE that I should visit or feature, comment on this post or on my Instagram!
